Protein Powered Fruit Smoothie (no added sugar)

I was reminded yesterday how much protein cottage cheese has in it. It is 12 grams per 1/2 cup. So I had a fun idea to add it to a smoothie instead of yogurt. It blends up smoothie. Greek yogurt also has 12 grams of protein in a 1/2 Cup. It was fun to try something new for added protein. You could skip the cottage cheese if you want to keep it dairy free. It was wonderful to have only natural sugar in it too. So smooth and refreshing.


3 C water
1/2 C low fat cottage cheese* optional
1 large handful of spinach
1 C frozen mangoes
1/3 C frozen blueberries
1/3 C frozen raspberries
1/3 C frozen peaches
1/2 frozen banana
2 T chia
2 T flax seed

Directions serves 4

1. Pour ingredients in the blender starting with the water. 
2. Blend and stir continuing until it is creamy and smooth. Enjoy a refreshing treat.
